How do I crop a PDF?
Open Crop PDF on Tools-Bench, add the file and drag the box on the page preview, or type the margins in millimetres. Choose all pages or just the one you see, then click Crop PDF. It runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded. Cropping hides what’s outside the box; it isn’t deleted from the file.
About Crop PDF
Cropping a PDF trims what each page shows: the white margins round a scanned article, the printer’s marks on a print-ready file, or everything except the one table you need. Draw the box on a preview of the page or type exact margins in millimetres or points, then apply it to every page, to just the page you’re looking at, or let auto-trim fit each page to its own content. Rotated scans and documents with pages of different sizes crop correctly, because the box is mapped onto each page the way a viewer shows it. Like most PDF croppers, it hides rather than deletes: what lies outside the box stays in the file.
How to use Crop PDF
1
Add your PDF
Drop it in the box or click Select. A preview of the first page appears, with the crop box around the whole page.
2
Set the crop
Drag the edges, draw a new box, click Fit to content, or type the margins in millimetres or points.
3
Choose the pages
Crop every page the same way, only the page you’re looking at, or auto-trim each page to its content.
4
Crop and download
Click Crop PDF and save the result. The file never leaves your device.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs inside your browser — your file is read from your device, processed in memory, and never sent to a server.
Does cropping a PDF delete what’s outside the box?
No. Like Acrobat and most PDF croppers, this sets the page’s crop box, which tells viewers which part to show. Text and images outside it stay in the file, and anyone can restore them by resetting the box in a PDF editor. If the hidden part must be gone for good, turn the cropped pages into images with PDF to Image: only the visible area is kept, though the text in the images can no longer be selected.
Can I crop just one page?
Yes. Go to the page with the arrows above the preview and choose “Only page …”; the rest of the document stays as it is. To crop several pages differently, crop one, download the result and run it through again.
How does auto-trim work?
It renders every page in your browser, finds where the ink is, and crops each page to its own content plus the padding you choose. Blank pages are left alone. It works best on digital PDFs; on a scan, a grey shadow at the edge counts as content, so crop those by hand.
Crop box or page size — which should I choose?
The crop box is the standard way to crop, and viewers and printers respect it. Some editors, imposition software and print shops read the page size (the MediaBox) instead; choose “Crop box + page size” so the new size sticks there too. Either way, content outside the box is hidden, not removed.
Does it work with rotated pages and mixed page sizes?
Yes. You draw the box on the page as you see it, and it’s mapped back onto the page’s own coordinates, so rotated scans crop the right edge. With “All pages”, the same margins come off every page; a page smaller than the margins is trimmed as far as it can be.
