Norwegian Documents

Guided forms that write a Norwegian legal document for you and hand it over as a PDF, ready to print and sign. Each one is built on the statute and the authorities' own guidance, cites both on the page, keeps you within the rules the law won't let you sign away, and comes with a checklist for the signing — for some documents, like a fremtidsfullmakt, the way it is signed decides whether it is valid at all. Everything is written in your browser: names, dates of birth and addresses are never uploaded.

Which document do you need?

Each form covers one situation. A lasting power of attorney (fremtidsfullmakt) names who will look after your interests if dementia or seriously failing health means you no longer can. The rental contract (husleiekontrakt) is a residential lease between landlord and tenant. The cohabitation agreement (samboerkontrakt) records how an unmarried couple own their home, whether extra equity was a gift, and who may take over the home if you split up. The used-car contract is for a car sold between two private people.

How you sign matters more for some documents than others. A fremtidsfullmakt is valid only if you sign it on paper while two witnesses are present together; electronic signing, such as BankID, doesn't make a valid one, and the form can check your witnesses against the rules before you print. A rental contract can be signed on paper or electronically. Every PDF opens with a checklist page for the signing, which isn't part of the document itself.

Know the limits, too. A cohabitation agreement is neither a will nor an ektepakt, so it can't give your partner an inheritance. The car contract is for private sales only; when a dealer sells, forbrukerkjøpsloven applies instead. And «as is» doesn't protect a seller whose information was wrong or who kept quiet about something important. The documents are in Norwegian and built on the statute and official guidance, but no form can judge your situation: with children from an earlier relationship, a business or anything unusual, get advice.
