How do I convert a WebP image to JPG?

Open WebP to JPG on Tools-Bench, drop in the .webp files and click Convert — JPG is already selected. Adjust the quality if you like, then download one image or all of them. Transparent areas turn white, because JPG has no transparency. Conversion happens in your browser, so the images are never uploaded.

About WebP to JPG

WebP is the format many websites now serve because it loads faster, so an image you save from your browser often arrives as .webp — and then an older photo editor, an upload form, a print shop or a messaging app refuses it. JPG is the format they all accept. This converter opens preset to JPG, decodes each WebP in your browser and re-saves it as a JPG, so the image never touches a server. Transparent areas, which JPG can't store, are filled with white.

How to use WebP to JPG

1
Add your WebP images
Drop in .webp files saved from websites — several at once if you like.
2
Keep JPG and pick a quality
JPG is preselected. 80% is a good balance; choose PNG instead if the image has transparency you need to keep.
3
Convert and download
Each image shows its new size; download one or all of them.

Frequently asked questions

Why do images I save from websites end up as WebP?
Sites serve WebP because it's typically a quarter to a third smaller than an equivalent JPG, so pages load faster. Your browser saves the file exactly as the site sent it, which is why it arrives as .webp.
What happens to transparent areas?
JPG has no transparency, so transparent pixels become white. If you need to keep the transparency, pick PNG as the output instead — it's on the same page.
What about animated WebP files?
JPG is a still-image format, so only the first frame of the animation is kept.
