How do I convert a PNG logo to SVG?

Open PNG to SVG on Tools-Bench and add the logo. Set Colors to the number of colors in the design, or use Black & white for a one-color mark, and watch the preview update. Download the .svg: real vector paths, transparent background kept. Tracing runs in your browser, so the PNG is never uploaded.

About PNG to SVG

PNG is the usual format for logos and icons, but it's made of pixels: blow it up for a banner or a print and the edges go soft. PNG to SVG traces those pixels into vector paths, so the logo stays crisp at any size and becomes editable in Illustrator, Inkscape or Figma. A transparent background stays transparent. Everything runs in your browser with the open-source vtracer engine — the PNG is never uploaded.

How to use PNG to SVG

1
Add your PNG
Drop in the logo, icon or illustration. A larger, sharper PNG gives cleaner curves.
2
Match the colors
Set Colors to the number of colors in the design (plus one if it has a solid background). Use Black & white for one-color marks.
3
Download the SVG
Check the preview against the original, then download the .svg or copy its code.

Frequently asked questions

Will my transparent background stay transparent?
Yes. In Color mode, fully transparent areas of the PNG get no shape at all, so the SVG's background is transparent too. Soft edge pixels become either solid or clear, which keeps the outline clean.
Is this a real vector, or a PNG inside an SVG?
A real vector. Some converters only embed the PNG in an .svg file, which still pixelates. This one traces each shape into a path with a solid fill, so you can scale it endlessly and recolor it in any vector editor.
Why does my logo's text look slightly different?
Tracing redraws each letter from its pixels, so small text from a low-resolution PNG can come out a little rounded. Start from the largest PNG you have, try Smoothing: Sharp, and for a perfect result use the original font in a vector editor.
Is my PNG uploaded anywhere?
No. The tracing engine runs as WebAssembly inside your browser; the file stays on your device from start to finish.
Can I convert a PNG photo to SVG?
It works, but a photo becomes flat patches of color and a large file. Vectorizing is meant for logos, icons and illustrations; a photo is best kept as PNG or JPG.
